New Handle. New Platforms. Fresh Start. @AOSEarSurgery

The American Otological Society is expanding its social media presence — and starting fresh. We’ve unified our handle across all platforms, launched on several new ones, and we’re building a content program designed for everyone: AOS members, clinicians, researchers, and anyone curious about hearing, balance, and the science of the ear.

Wherever you follow us, you’ll find us as @AOSEarSurgery.

We’re now active on seven platforms:

Like, follow, share, repost, connect, and subscribe–depending on the platform you choose. (Feel free to choose more than one.)

What to Expect

Our social media content will serve two audiences: the AOS member community and the general public. Here’s a look at what we’ll be sharing:

Introducing Our New Fellows

Each year, the AOS inducts a class of new Fellows — accomplished surgeons, clinicians, and researchers who represent the best in the field. We’ll feature each of our 15 new 2026 Fellows individually on social media. It’s a chance for the community to celebrate them — and for the public to meet the people advancing hearing and balance health.

Webinar Clips and Highlights

The AOS hosts webinars that bring together leading voices in otology and beyond. We’ll be sharing clips from past sessions, including our recent conversation featuring Dr. Francis Collins, musician Huey Lewis, and neurotologist Dr. Charles Limb on the topic of music, hearing loss, and the brain. You can watch the full recording on our website.

Annual Meeting Updates

The AOS Annual Meeting brings together the society’s members for scientific presentations, collaboration, and recognition of outstanding work in the field. We’ll be sharing updates from our 159th Annual meeting and highlights on social using #AOS159. Learn more about the AOS Annual Meeting.

Coming in June: A Webinar on Tinnitus (June 9th)

Tinnitus — the perception of ringing, buzzing, or other sounds in the ear without an external source — affects an estimated 15% of adults. This June, the AOS will host a webinar dedicated to the latest thinking on tinnitus in collaboration with the Korean Otological Society. Follow us so you don’t miss it.

Research and Journal Highlights

TThe AOS publishes Otology & Neurotology and an open-access journal Otology and Neurotology Open, two of the leading peer-reviewed journals in the field.

Our Research Fund distributes $400,000 per year to support important work that progresses to ground breaking innovations. We’ll be highlighting notable research and clinical insights to keep our community— and the public — informed on the latest advances.
